Born in Kansas, I grew up in Southern California. Spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and after returning home from Viet Nam I moved to the Bay Area. Before moving to Valley Springs, my wife, MaryAnn, and I were part of The Church of Transfiguration in Castro Valley. Aside from my assignments at Transfiguration I presented a weekly Bible study class at a retirement community for 10 years. MaryAnn was also very active in the church, to mention a few ministries; she was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and chair of the Parish Council for two years. Together we chaired the Renew Program where I heard God’s call to pursue the Diaconate Ministry. So in 1995 I began training with MaryAnn by my side. Then in October, 2000 I was ordained into the Diocese of Oakland.
On a personal note MaryAnn and I have 5 children, 9 grandchildren. Currently I am the Meat Manager at the IGA Young’s Market in Pioneer. MaryAnn has retired for the second time. Once from Safeway and lastly from the Castro Valley School District where she worked in adult and special education.
We would like to thank all of you for being so welcoming and supportive to MaryAnn and myself. |
