1st - 6th Grade and Junior High
As a result of the Faith Formation awareness promotion in the June and July bulletins, three people have volunteered and been accepted as catechists at St. Patrick. Calendars and topics are in place for all grades. Registration begins Sunday, August 22, and classes will begin the week of September 12.
Catechist Formation
Susan has chosen to implement the same format at St. Patrick that proved successful at Our Lady of the Pines last year. The lesson topics will be the same for both groups. The new format will be the topic of a meeting Friday, August 20, at 6:30 p.m. Marci Russell and Liz Powers, Co-coordinators of A.C.T., plan to use a similar format and will also join us. The first half of the monthly catechist meetings will be held at Our Lady of the Pines and the second half at St. Patrick.
A.C.T.
Twenty-six youth and family members attended the kick-off event “Come to the Water” for Amador Catholic Teens held Saturday, August 14. Organized by Marci Russell and Liz Powers, the afternoon began with a Para liturgy celebrated with Deacon Jamie Garcia. Games were next all involving water to reflect the theme. Parents and youth heard a presentation from the coordinators. The day ended with a picnic supper hosted by A.C.T. and implemented by many hands. Meetings will be held at Immaculate Conception of the first Saturday of each month after the 6:00 p.m. Mass and on the third Sunday of each month at St. Patrick after the 11:00 Mass. The journey continues for the youth of our three parishes.
Adult Formation - Women's Study Group
The group continues to meet.
RCIA and RCIA Adapted for Children
The process for adults will begin in September. There are five families who have been invited into the process with their children. Susan Kirkwood-Yates is meeting on an individual basis with each family. Classes will begin in September.
